If you’re sexually active, chances are you’re part of a sexual network (in other words: you slept with X, who slept with Y, who slept with…) and chances are you’re more connected to the people around you than you actually know (or even care to think about!).

Some people find this line of thought off putting: Boinkology prefers to think of it in a more positive light (it’s all social networking, baby). Hence our sheer glee upon discovering the sexchart: an 11 year old project documenting sexual connections within the hacker scene (in ASCII, no less).

Starting with a mere 32 people (see above), the “big loop” now contains over 1800 names (including a few famous ones) and continues to grow (proof that we’re all connected?). Interpret as you will (proof of the transient nature of modern love, proof that we’re all connected, proof that people who use the Internet are giant hos): we’re just in awe of its existence.
