Okay, so Boinkology already had a crush on Barack Obama (seriously, just look at him. Look at him!). But then we found this video, in which Obama comes out in favor of providing comprehensive, age appropriate sex education — starting as young as kindergarten.

Oh man: we are so crushed out.

For those who don’t get what “age appropriate” sex ed means: no, it’s not about giving condoms to kindergarteners. Sex ed (shocking but true!) is about more than just condoms, birth control, and how to have sex without dying or getting knocked up. Things like how your body works, loving and respecting yourself, learning about where babies come from, developing a healthy body image: all those things fall under the banner of sex ed, and they’re all things that you can (and should) discuss in a completely appropriate way with kindergarteners.

Knowledge about how our bodies work is never a bad thing. We can’t fathom why anyone thinks it’s a good idea to keep that information under wraps.
