No, this is not a post about how to get laid at the SXSW Festival (that will have to wait for another day). This post is about some smart, cool panel suggestions that are currently floating around in the SXSW Panel Picker, waiting for your approval. Smart, cool panel suggestions that deal with (gasp!) sex and the web.
First and foremost, we’re going to have to plug the panel that features a member of the Boinkology staff: Pink Ghetto Blasters (subtitle:Destigmatizing Sex via Online Community Building). What’s it about, you ask?
The Internet has increased access to sexually explicit material and also created a new category, “NSFW” (not safe for work) with which to stigmatize sexual material and the discussions around it. We discuss specific strategies used to resist and challenge the stigmatization of sex.
In addition to Lux, this panel will feature Chris Hall, Rachel Kramer Bussel, and Violet Blue, and will be moderated by Elizabeth Wood.
And that’s not the only awesome sex-related panel out there: while you’re voting to approve Pink Ghetto Blasters, you should also check out:
Let SXSW know that you want smart discussion of sexuality! Get out and vote!
