We’re kinda geeky here at Boinkology (you know, in case this didn’t tip you off). We also like dating (in case, uh, this whole blog didn’t tip you off). So we were pretty thrilled by Gridskipper’s new map of geek date spots.
We were hoping for a few more science museums or secret science clubs — but hey, we’ll take what we can get. Any chance of an NYC edition? Or is the Big Apple just not geeky enough for that?

That’s easy. Just off the top of my head, some NYC Geek Date places, in no specific order:
1) AMNH / Rose Center, esp the Friday night dance party and/or the Tuesday night live planetarium shows
The old guy on 259 Canal Street who sells every electrical component ever made, salvaged from other electronic devices.
2) Museum of Sex
3) NY Hall of Science
4) Union Hall Secret Science Club
5) Lemurplex
6) Any of the Apple Stores
7) NYU ITP
9) MAKE night
10) Remote Lounge (if it’s still open)
11) Nerd Night
12) NY Tech Meetup
13) Cafe Scientifique
14) Columbia University’s Tunnel Tours
15) Columbia’s Rutherford Observatory open nights
Best date nights: May 28 or July 12, the nights the sunset lines up with the Manhattan street grid.
