Rez — a trippy rail shooter game (with a trance score!) released a few years ago for both the PS2 and Dreamcast — is the stuff of legends. Or, to be more precise, the Trance Vibrator — a peripheral that, um, vibrates in time to the game’s beat — is the stuff of legends (and really, our only reason for being interested in the game at all).

So we were pretty jazzed when we heard about Rez HD, the XBox Live (HD!) version that’s due out soon. Vibrations in HD? How hot is that?

Apparently, not everyone sees things quite the way we do. How else to explain the following line in the Kotaku review?

Having the rumble built right in to the controls without the purchase of the Trance Vibrator was a great addition as it was something I hadn’t been able to try before.
