We like to think that online dating is good for everyone — at least assuming you can find the right site that fits your dating needs and niche.
Not surprisingly, online dating is particularly good for single parents, who seem to be overrepresented in the online dating pool. Though a mere 5.7% of American adults are single parents, a whopping 16.1% of online daters fall into that category.
We can’t say we’re surprised by any of this: given the complicated lives and time constraints of single parents — well, it’s a lot easier to meet someone through your computer than at a bar.
Plus, online dating allows you to advertise potential dealbreakers — like, say, having kids — in advance, thus neatly avoiding the “I met Mr./Ms. Right, but oh shit! S/he hates kids!” scenario.
