BoinkMusic: The Noisettes

While it may be one of the lesser concerns when preparing to have sex, music can play a role in making or breaking the mood. Of course, if you spend half the evening combing through your vast record collection, and the only sound you’re likely to hear is that of your lover walking out the door.

Boinkology wants you to get laid, so we’re taking the guesswork out and giving you our own handpicked selections of the latest and greatest new tracks to download and get down to. Every Friday, Camille Acey brings you BoinkMusic: music you don’t know, but should definitely be fucking to.

I’ve wanted to see The Noisettes perform for a while now. The tiny and energetic singer Shingai Shoniwa’s onstage antics are the stuff of legend: she jumps, kicks, and rocks out on stage. In fact, they once had to cancel a string of shows after a miscalculated backflip off the stage left her in bad shape. We at Boinkology always use the appropriate precautions when involving in our own brand of acrobatics, so Shingai would surely be welcome in any of our bedrooms… but we’d feel much safer if she just sent her music instead.

Specimen: The Noisettes – The Count of Monte Cristo (Motown/Vertigo)

Description: The latest single from The Noisettes is a considerable break from what many garage rock bangers listeners have been accustomed to. It is still as rollicking as you would expect from a band with noise in their first name, but where their other tracks crunch with guitars, this song jingles and pops with an old-time bluesy feel.

Hypothesis: This gorgeous new track will have you and your chosen one doing backflips of your own.
