Anyone who’d wager to take an in-depth review of my dating record could probably easily discern that I have not always been the world’s best judge of character. For that reason, Mr. Right sometimes turned into Mr. “Your Check Bounced and So Have All My Pleading Emails To You” and other such follies. Lucky for me, my bad judgement also meant that sometimes a person or thing I’d dismissed turned out to be really great, and thus is the case with this week’s artist. I met The MGMT a while back and unfairly painted them with the day-glo nu-rave brush, but I am pleasantly surprised to find that they are something far better (and boinkable!) than I imagined.

Specimen: Electric Feel – The MGMT

Description: A spare 70s disco-inspired electro-pop track that would be right at home sandwiched between The Bee Gees and Prince on the light station but still feels fresh and fun.
