We recently learned that altporn pinup site SuicideGirls has laid off the bulk of their writing staff, including such notable names as Wil Wheaton and Warren Ellis. The official story is that budget cuts led to the mass firing; and, honestly, we can’t say we’re surprised that the writers were the ones to go. Somehow, naked pix of tattooed girls seem like a far more valuable asset than blog posts. Even blog posts by Wil Wheaton.
But we have to wonder: what will happen to all those members who joined SuicideGirls for the articles?

Awww…I liked Warren Ellis’ mad little screeds. Wil Wheaton’s writing was alot more coherent on SG.
I would never have joined SG (too many stories floating around about the way they do business) but I liked the little stable of writers they had going.
