Now that the hustle and bustle of New Year’s has passed, it’s time for corporate America to start selling us all on the next major holiday. That’s right, it’s officially Valentine’s Day season.

We’ve never been too keen on commodified romance, but it’s been particularly annoying those years when we’ve found ourselves sans partner. We usually go the quirkyalone route, keeping in mind that fabulous and single is better than miserable and attached — but sometimes a girl (or boy) just wants to whine, cry, and eat some candy. And for those Valentine’s Days, we recommend Bittersweets.
