…and we’d like to take a moment to reflect on how genuinely lucky we feel to live in a country where our reproductive rights are (currently) protected. Well, mostly.
A country where we have access to freely available contraception — provided that we have the right insurance and access to the right pharmacy (you know, not Target).
A country where — even if our primary method of contraception fails — we can still get easy access to emergency contraception. You know, if we’re over eighteen. And not going to Target.
A country where we have the right to terminate a pregnancy — provided we do it in time. And live in the right state. And are over eighteen — or have parental consent (even when our pregnancy is the result of incest, or we live in an abusive environment).
Yeah, it sure is great to live in a country where reproductive rights are valued.
