eHarmony’s Secret Formula

We knew Coca Cola had a secret formula — but eHarmony? We had no idea that the science of hooking people up was actually complicated enough to have a secret algorithm.

Turns out, matchmaking is serious business, and the scienticians at eHarmony Labs (and, presumably, the labs of competing sites like Chemistry.com) spend a great deal of time figuring out exactly how to make the perfect match.

Now if only they could find the right algorithm for getting hot people to sign up for eHarmony and Chemistry.com.

There is wonderful potential for inter-discipline competition here:

E-Harmony’s algorithm was designed by a psychologist. Perfectmatch.com’s was designed by a sociologist. Chemistry.com’s was designed by an anthropologist.

Who can predict the best matches?

    Battle of the social sciences!!!
