Introducing Alice the Goon

We can’t get enough good writing about sex (as you probably could have guessed), so we were super stoked to learn that Liz Langley (who was also featured Best Sex Writing 2008) has started her very own blog about love and sex, Alice the Goon (confused by the “flagged content” warning? There’s an explanation here).

Why Alice the Goon?

Alice the Goon was a character in the “Popeye,” cartoons, a hulking weirdo in a midi-skirt and a flower pot hat. She loved Popeye and would chase after him, little hearts popping around her big dumb face. Popeye always ran away.

Well, everyone else loved her back. “She was transgender before it was chic,” said Paige Anderson, who co-founded the Orlando ‘zine “Alice the Goon” with Liz in 1990, launching Liz’s writing career. This blog is Liz’s latest incarnation.

Sounds great to us. Liz is already off to an awesome start with pieces on choreplay, necrophilia, and the reversal of the Texas sex toy ban. We can’t wait to read more!
