I’m going to be a part of 20×2 v. 8.0 (to be held at this year’s SXSW) — but in order for my presentation to be as rocking as possible, I’m going to need your help. So tell me: what’s the difference between porn and erotica?
One line quips are preferred.

Erotica is porn to which you’ve yet to masturbate.
February 27th, 2008 at 12:15 pmporn is the electron, whilst erotica the proton – in that porn is hectic, less than focused, a hodgepodge or an all you can eat buffet and erotica deals with the simmering want inside with direct applied pressure to quench desire
February 27th, 2008 at 12:43 pmThe difference is the person looking at it. If they think it’s porn, it’s porn. If they think it’s erotica, it’s erotica. Or…
Porn is made for the sole purpose of masturbation, or getting off with a partner, erotica is made for art.
February 27th, 2008 at 12:59 pmTo qoute O. Wilde:
“Morality, like art, means drawing a line someplace.”
We could rephrase it
Erotica, like art, means drawing a line someplace
February 27th, 2008 at 2:32 pmWell, of course there’s the old classic…
“Erotica is what *I* like. Porn is what *you* like, you pervert.”
February 27th, 2008 at 7:03 pmPorn is for the cock/pussy, erotica is for the brain…and the cock/pussy.
February 27th, 2008 at 11:09 pmPorn is what you jerk off to on your own. Erotica is what you watch with your partner.
February 28th, 2008 at 7:20 pmThe difference between porn and erotica is the dialogue.
February 29th, 2008 at 2:06 amThe eye of the beholder. And their brain. Erotica oftens leaves more to fill in and think about.
