So What Is Digg’s Stance On Porn Again?

We were shocked to see Digg go down for maintenance today (in the middle of the day? Prime digging time??).

We were even more shocked to see noted porn pin-up site, SuicideGirls, listed among their recommended sites to go to while Digg is down.

Wait, what is Digg’s stance on porn again?

It is called freedom of speech…what goes on the site is one thing, what an employee likes outside of digg is entirely up to them. Two different things, dude.

  • Lux Alptraum says :

Well, yeah, except for the fact that that’s a screen cap of the front page of Digg, and effectively a list of Digg endorsed websites.

Just seems a bit hypocritical, if you ask me.

  • jen says :

    i agree, it’s very hypocritical.

  • Richard Blakeley says :

DIANE: It’s a direct link from Digg.com to a porn site, but you can’t in fact submit anything from a porn site. How is this any different? It’s not like this is on the employee’s personal blog.

What makes it OK now and not at other times? Where is the line? What if it was a link to Bang Bus? Or Dirt Pike Milkshake Facials? Would that be OK too? Probably not right?

It’s clear that Digg is OK with porn/nudity sometimes and not others, we are here to point it out.
