It had to happen eventually: Wired has a profile of the first ever Twitter marriage proposal, which took place earlier this month (right before SXSW, natch).
Stephanie Sullivan and Greg Rewis, the couple in question, use Twitter (as well as email, Skype, and Flickr) to stay in touch and help maintain their long distance relationship — so we suppose it only makes sense that Rewis would use Twitter to pop the question.
Meanwhile, we’re still wondering: can we officially refer to these people as twittersexuals?
Comments
Undoubtedly, we are twittersexuals. Well, I guess that would depend on the definition — which might be negotiable at this point. I mean, so much of twitter is still being formed. It’s only recently hatched.
Tonight, Andy Clarke (@malarkey) coined a nice new term for twitter spammers - spitters. I like it. I wondered (@stefsull), via twitter, if the rest of us good twitter folks were Swallows. I mean, twitter is all about the birds.
And no, Greg and I can’t really say whether we’re the first or not. We certainly don’t know everyone on twitter. But I must say, it was romantic either way. And I’m a happy geek.
Have a good weekend!

Oh man… if Twitter spammers are spitters, I’m definitely a swallow. There are way too many of those on my list.
