We just caught word that all this weekend, the Empire State Building will be lit up pink, purple, and white. No, it’s not premature Gay Pride — it’s to honor Mariah Carey, a “great New Yorker” who’s been breaking records with her latest album release.

Though the whole system of determining ESB lighting seems, well, odd at best, we’re quite happy to know that Ms. Carey is getting honored. After all, didn’t she teach us all how to love?

Over at Boinkology, we’ll be celebrating Ms. Carey’s achievement by watching the video for “Fantasy.” As Blakeley puts it, “Very relationshipy, and it’s got motherfuckin’ clowns.”
