The Boondocks ‘Exposes’ The Lazy Stripper Stereotype
Occasionally The Boondocks features some groundbreaking storylines about sex and culture. But in the following clip they recycle every stereotype about strippers imaginable. It’s sad when so little effort goes into writing a cartoon that’s supposed to be so cutting edge.
Also, it seems that the best place to meet a stripper is at the grocery store. Who knew? I always thought the best place would be at a strip club.

May 16th, 2008 at 10:34 amYeah, this episode always really bothered me just for that reason. And in order to really drive home the stripper/gold-digger stereotypes they had to employ the “old man completely blinded by the possibility of sex with a hot woman” stereotype.
I think it’s just a reminder that no matter how intelligent, progressive, or open-minded people are/purport to be, there are always personal biases that still exist.
