The Relationship Resume

SUBMITTED BY BEAUTYZEALOT: After hearing a few friends’ stories of bizarre and unsuccessful online dating, I decided it would be a great idea to have to present some sort of rough syllabus of relationships past to your new date. No gory details necessary, of course, but a rough synopsis of the timeline of exes (ie. dates, durations, etc.), almost like a resume.

Then, during the date, you can go over the document like you would in an interview. ”So, I see things ended with Petunia in 2005, but then there was nothing again until 2007. What was going on during that time? Were you laid off?” and “What made you decide to leave Nancy? Were the parting terms mutual?”

You could even have notes at the bottom, such as “References available upon request.” For that, though, I guess you’d need a few well-intentioned exes in your back pocket who’d be willing to dish a little. Maybe that’s taking it too far.

Either way, though, the syllabus would be a great (and efficient) way to get to the bottom of the basics without wasting each other’s time. It would also be hilarious.

Hilarious indeed. You should make up a sample dating resume with a cover letter =)

I thought at first the image was of YOUR dating resume and I was fascinated with the “Has been referred to as ‘RAIN MAKER’” portion. I definitely support making a sample and I would also vote to include Rain Maker in there somewhere.

Should they be listed timewise or by emotional impact?
