While growing up during the 80’s, Diff’rent Strokes was one of my favorite shows. Yet somehow I don’t remember this particular episode about a creepy guy who owns a bike store and tries to molest Arnold and his friend by offering them Boston creme pie and Jesus juice.
I find it pretty progressive for a kids’ show. And, come to think of it, I probably did see it, and just don’t remember. It would definitely explain a lot of weird dreams I’ve had over the years.

yay show biz, shooting a molesting ep while getting dialysis backstage.
Gotta love Kimberly´s movies though

May 23rd, 2008 at 12:50 pmI just want to say that this episode was the first time I ever heard of Boston cream pie (when I was, what, five?), and the two will forever be associated in my mind.
May 23rd, 2008 at 12:53 pmFound it a little odd at the end where drummond says to beware of people who try to win you over with a lot of gifts and then goes on to say that in addition to bike, arnold’s gonna get a radio too…
May 24th, 2008 at 1:33 pmthat’s one of the few episodes i do remember. i think shows of that era were kind of progressive in general, for the times. or at least they covered some heavy hitter topics. do you remember the episode of growing pains, a show where they’d say ‘darn’ instead of damn, where mike was tempted to coke?
May 24th, 2008 at 10:12 pmAnd don’t forget the episode of Facts of Life where Blair knifes an old lady so she can get some cash to score heroin. And later on, she has sex with some businessman for $5 to get another fix.
