NY Times Tries, And Fails, To Understand Porn

We have a soft spot in our hearts for the old Grey Lady, but there are some days when the grand dame of New York journalism can seem a bit senile. Take, for example, this piece from Sunday’s paper, which desperately wants to make an interesting, salient point about internet porn, but can’t quite seem to get it together long enough to assemble a coherent article.

For those too lazy to click through, here’s the article in sum:

  • Oh man, there’s totally porn on the internet. In fact, everyone I know thinks that because my job is to look at videos on the internet, I’m looking at porn.
  • But I’m so not, man! I’m totally on YouTube.
  • But seriously? Porn is everywhere. Like, my friends look at porn at work.
  • Not on YouTube, though!
  • Insert name of porn videosharing sites to prove I did my research.
  • Oh man, there’s some crazy shit on YouTube!

You’re welcome.
