As If The Economy Wasn’t Ruining Your Life Enough Already

Is it just me, or does the economy keep finding increasingly devious ways to make us all miserable? Well, when I say “us” I guess I really mean “guys who work on Wall Street,” and by “miserable” I mean “patronize sex workers.” According to NY Daily News interviewee Jonathan Alpert, sex addiction—which, weirdly, seems to translate to sex with prostitutes—is probably just another nasty side effect of put-upon bankers (or stock traders, or whatever) dealing with their stress on the job: “Instead of going once a week [like they used to], maybe they’re going three or four times a week. And these are married men.”

Don’t worry, Dr. Alpert. Thanks to all the recent NYC busts, soon there won’t be any sex workers yet to oblige such “maladaptive coping mechanisms.” Maybe then these guys will buckle down and try to save us all from being broke for the rest of our adult lives?
