Date With Your Friends

You might be justifiably dubious of any dating site that promises to make your experience “less awkward” and “more fun”, but new match site Ignighter might have a chance of doing just that. Rather than fostering individual meet-ups, Ignighter’s founders focus on bring groups together. It’s like combining the variety of speed dating with the selection powers of more traditional dating sites. Could there be a more perfect union?

In terms of cool features, “taken” folks can register if they just want to back up their friends, and groups don’t have be uniform in gender or, one assumes, sexuality. (You can specify if you’re looking for only men, only women, or “mixed.”) Right now, the membership is skewed awfully young (early, early 20s, from what I saw) but it’s still pretty new, and will probably attract a more diverse pool as the months go on. Whether you’re a fan of “the more the merrier” mentality or not, I think we can all agree that this is an admirable attempt to “disrupt a stale market that hasn’t adapted in years.” Isn’t it about time you gave up on Nerve personals and tried something new?
