Let’s start with a confession: I get very weirded out by spit. I’ve worked in a hospice, seen blood and other body fluids, but spittle has always made me go a big nursie.
Starting a few years back I began to notice a trend in porn, lots of gobbing, hocking and just plain old spitting. Usually during oral sex scenes, but even plain old vanilla missionary sex would have the occasional loogie tossed in there for good measure.
Beyond simply doing nothing for me, besides making me stumble one-handed for the remote or mouse, it seemed like some kind of new sexual fetish was arising, or dribbling, right before my eyes.
Gonzo porn seemed rife with spit-swapping it’s usual creeptacular fashion, but the so-called “alt” genre, with paeans to sex-positivity had plenty of mucus moments too.
I’m not naive, but I can’t even imagine spitting on a partner, let alone being aroused by gagging and copious mouth juices. But one person’s bitter pill is another’s sweet swallow.
So spitting afficianadoes, what is the appeal? Is it good old fashioned power exchange? A method of claiming the other person? Degredation and humiliation or simply another way to get some of you on/in someone else?

I think it depends largely on the context of the scene. Spitting on a cock, for example, helps lube it up and easier to get down your throat (especially with the thicker stuff that comes fro mthe back of the giver’s throat).
There is some porn out there that has one person spitting into the other’s face (usually from the man onto the woman, of course). I think that plays more to the humiliation/degradation angle, or perhaps the “nastiness” or “dirtiness” of the sex taking place.
Some porn has some spitting into each other’s mouth, and I think this is a sort of “happy medium” (if you will) between spitting on the other person and not.
I think in reality, it is just one more thing that porn producers can put into their movies to shock people. Personally, however, I am not averse to being spit on if that’s what it takes for a partner to get off (within reason).

And when it comes to my own personal experience, I don’t even like it when my partner hocks one for lubrication … it just grosses me out.
