Jonathan Coulton is something of a nerdish god. Along with John Hodgman, Sarah Vowell and Ira Glass, he makes geeky, glasses-wearing high-verbal types so very appealing.
And he knows a thing or two about love.
Take for instance this lovely country tune about a lonely supervillain trying to win the hand of a damsel. Did the last great love song you heard have lines like ”
I made this half-pony half-monkey monster to please you
But I get the feeling that you don’t like it
What’s with all the screaming?
So get some mead poured in the skull of your foe, fire up the oscillator overthruster and get romantic.
Adding to the geeky love, yes, you can play the song on the “Rock Band” video game.

Ha! This is great. As a bit of a geek and a Guitar Hero addict myself, I’ve been sufficiently inspired. Now to work on my lyrics about mixing blogging and binge-drinking . . .
December 10th, 2008 at 11:22 pmI remember hearing some song he did about zombies and thinking he’s quite genius.
December 22nd, 2008 at 1:33 pmAnd he’s also the genius behind Portal’s ending song, “Still Alive”.
Cake anyone?
